How to choose the right phone case size without guessing

3 min read

The safest way to choose a phone case is to match the complete model name, not the screen size or the shape in a photo. One extra word can mean a different fit. Take a minute to confirm the model now, especially if you are ordering a made-to-order case or buying for someone else.

Find the model in the phone’s settings

On an iPhone, open Settings, then General, then About. Read the full Model Name. If you need to identify the device through its model number, Apple explains where to find that number in the same area.

On Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones, look in Settings for About phone. Menu wording can vary, so use the phone manufacturer’s support instructions if the name is unclear. Write down the whole model name; keep a screenshot for yourself if that is easier.

Keep every suffix

Pro, Pro Max, Plus, Ultra, FE and similar suffixes are part of the model identity. Do not leave them off because two phones look similar. A case needs to match the body and the camera layout, not just a general family name.

For example, selecting an iPhone 16 case for an iPhone 16 Pro is not a close-enough substitution. The same caution applies within Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel families. A product photo is an illustration of the selected model, not evidence that another model will fit.

Use the phone finder, then review the product

Type the full model into the FORM CASE phone finder and choose the matching suggestion. The collection then shows compatible choices. Open the design you like and review its case style and phone model before adding it to the bag.

Tough and Tough Magnetic have different compatibility lists. If switching styles changes the available phone options, pause and check the selection again. An unavailable model is a reason to choose another offered style, not a reason to select a different phone.

Check once more before paying

Review the complete phone name, design, color where offered, case style and quantity in the bag and checkout. If you are buying a gift, ask the recipient for the model from their settings rather than guessing from an older photo.

Our cases are made to order. Wrong-model selections and changes of mind are not covered by the returns policy. Damage and manufacturing issues are handled separately under that policy. If you still cannot identify the right option, contact hello@shopformcase.com before placing the order.
